Rebecca Morris, MSW, LCSW

Assistant Clinical Supervisor/Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Rebecca Morris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been providing comprehensive clinical mental health services since 1999. Born and raised in New York, Rebecca moved to Georgia in 2004 as a military spouse. She has extensive experience working with military individuals, couples, and families. Rebecca works from a strengths-based and cognitive-behavioral perspective in which services are tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual and family. Individuals will benefit from a safe place to explore their emotions and increase their awareness in an effort to improve daily functioning and preserve relationships with others. Rebecca also assists in developing policies and providing supervision in order to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of services offered by our agency.

Krystal Mehalko, M.Ed., LPC

Clinical Associate, Licensed Professional Counselor

Krystal Mehalko is a native of Coastal Georgia who graduated from Bradwell Institute before studying at Georgia Southern University. She provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with emotional issues such as Anxiety, Depression, or Adjustment. Krystal’s therapeutic techniques have assisted her clients in developing healthy coping skills and improved self-esteem. She has also had success in working with adolescents who engage in self-harming behaviors and with individuals suffering from chronic illness.

Melissa Maulden, M.A., LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Melissa Maulden came to coastal Georgia following her father’s military service. Melissa has been a long-time resident of Long County who served the school system for several years before dedicating herself to the helping profession. Melissa specializes in working with at-risk youth, victims of abuse, and treatment of sexual abusers. Her contributions are critical to the safety of our community.

Thomas Morgan, Ph.D., LPCM

Licensed Professional Counselor

Tom Morgan serves as a core provider for Darsey, Black and Associates. He is a school counselor on Fort Stewart who is highly dedicated to helping our community’s youth succeed. Tom’s commitment to the children served by our agency is evident by the care he provides to each individual and family served.

Jason Nietzke, M.A., LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Jason Nietzke is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in private practice since 2010. Jason earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Jason has extensive experience and training in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. He has a history of working with individuals who have a history of PTSD, ADHD, School/behavior problems, Personality Disorders, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorders, Substance Abuse and Dependence Disorders, Sexual Abuse, Impulse Control Disorders, Relationship difficulties, Adjustment difficulties and Grief/Loss. Jason provides individual, couples, marital, and group psychotherapy.

Over the past several years, Jason has worked in-patient, traditional out-patient, as well as provided in home therapy for at risk youth with severe emotional and behavioral problems. He believes in a systems approach, utilizing teams consisting of family members, teachers, and other professionals to best meet your needs. Jason’s strengths include quick and thorough assessments of anger, marriage, domestic violence, mental health, substance abuse, and sexual issues to insure you receive the most comprehensive and appropriate services necessary to aid you in overcoming your concerns.

Christina Merrill, MSW, LCSW

Clinical Associate

Christina Merrill’s extensive knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of others assist her in providing services to at-risk youth served by our core team. Christina also provides in-home therapy and parent education to assist members of our community in preserving family unity.

Renee Sylvester, M.A. LPC

Clinical Associate

Renee Sylvester has been with Darsey, Black and Associates for nearly 10 years. Renee specializes in assessing the needs of individuals and families, many of whom are involved with the Department of Family and Children Services. Renee has also had training and experience in the assessment and treatment of sexual abuse victims and perpetrators. In addition to her position as a counselor with our Agency, Renee is also employed as an adjunct instructor in the Psychology Department at South University in Savannah. She lives in Long County with her husband, daughter, and many animals.

Jennifer Tart, B.S.

Clinical Associate

Jennifer Tart came to coastal Georgia with her military family. She is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia at Athens. Jennifer provides CSI in effort to assist families in our area in improving family unit and achieving reunification. Jenny is currently is school to become a LMFT.

Anna Lane

Clinical Associate

As a former DFCS supervisor and current DJJ probation officer, Anna Lane contributes years of experience and knowledge to our agency. Anna’s primary function is to evaluate homes in effort to have children placed in foster care reunited with relatives.

Christine Woodard, M.A., LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker
Christine was born and raised in Southeast Georgia where she currently owns a home in Pierce County. Christine received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Albany State University and most recently received her LMSW in August 2015. She has been providing therapeutic services to individuals and families of all backgrounds since 2011, but has a particular passion for services geared toward children and adolescents. Christine has been with Darsey, Black, and Associates since April 2015 and currently provides an array of assessments, evaluations, and in-home therapy services.

Gabrielle Perry, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker

Gabi earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Saint Leo University. She came to Georgia as a military spouse in 2003. Her family has settled in the area following their time with the military. Gabi works with individuals, couples, families, and children. Using a cognitive-behavioral approach, Gabi assists clients learning effective coping skills.

Erin Campbell, B.S.

Erin Campbell currently holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in human services. She is currently working on her Master’s degree in clinical social work. Erin has extensive experience in working with children. She posses the ability to build rapport and coping skills with children and adults. She has experience with CBT and working with at risk youth. Erin is proficient in teaching parenting skills. She is dedicated to helping families by providing them with the skills and resources they need to become self-sufficient.

Danai Brown, B.S.

Clinical Associate

Danai Brown is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern. Danai has knowledge of mental illness and symptom management, to include Anxiety, Depression, and Aggression. She has experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques. Danai has experience working with diverse populations and individuals of various ages. She possesses and outgoing personality and rapport building skills, and is highly committed and dedicated.

Robin Brisson, B.A.

Clinical Associate

Robin Brisson came to Georgia as a military spouse in 2008, obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia College in 2013, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Robin has previous experience representing the best interest of foster children during court proceedings as a local Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), using behavioral techniques to increase academic functioning and social skills for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, as well as teaching independent living skills and promoting social functioning in adults with intellectual disabilities. Since 2014 Robin has provided parent aid services during supervised visitation and in home parenting education to improve family functioning and promote reunification for families involved with DFCS.

W. Taylor Darsey, MSW, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Taylor Darsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. A native of Liberty County, Taylor graduated from Liberty County High School prior to studying Clinical Social Work at the University of Georgia. He has experience working with children, adults, and families in different clinical settings as well as experience treating various mood and substance abuse disorders. Taylor uses a cognitive-behavioral-based approach to treatment, actively working with the client and utilizing their strengths to help them develop coping skills, explore their emotions, practice mindfulness, and achieve their goals.

Kim Whyte, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor
Kim Whyte is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a M.S. in Counseling and Psychology and a B.S. in Psychology. She also has certifications in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Biofeedback, and Addiction Counseling. Kim works with individuals, couples, and families regarding a wide range of concerns related to grief, relationships, parenting, career transitions, addiction, anxiety, depression, traumatic brain injury, combat related issues, and assessments. Kim employs an interpersonal and holistic mind-body approach from a cognitive behavioral perspective.

Kim is skilled in the use of several evidence-based psychotherapies and techniques to support and empower clients. Therapies include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Stress Inoculation Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

Kim is a military spouse with over 17 years of experience providing services to Military Service Members and their families.

William Darsey, M.A., LPC

Owner/Clinical Director/Licensed Professional Counselor

Will Darsey opened Darsey, Black and Associates in 1991. As a native of Hinesville, Mr. Darsey graduated from Bradwell Institute before studying at Armstrong Atlantic State University and The University of Alabama. He holds a Masters of Arts degree in Educational Psychology as well as multiple National Board Certifications in Clinical Mental Health and Addiction Counseling. He has dedicated his life to providing mental health and substance abuse services, and remains committed to improving the quality of life for citizens of coastal Georgia. Mr. Darsey serves as a board member at Liberty Regional Medical Center, where he collaborates with other professionals to improve the quality of care available to individuals in our community.

Tommy Black, Ph.D., LPC

Co-Owner/Clinical Supervisor/Licensed Professional Counselor

Dr. Tommy Black is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in private practice since 1998. Currently he serves as a member of the Georgia Composite Board for Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family Therapists. He also serves as the Chair of the Rules Committee and on the Advisory Panel for the National Board of Forensic Evaluators.

Dr. Black has extensive experience and training in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, REBT, and DBT. He works with a myriad of life issues but has particular expertise in Grief/Loss, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Impulse Control Issues, Relationship difficulties, and Adjustment Difficulties.

A veteran of the Gulf War (1990-1991) while serving in the U.S. Army, Dr. Black has years of personal and professional experience in understanding and helping others cope with the specific trials of military services for active duty individuals and their families.
