Outpatient Mental Health
Darsey, Black and Associates, LLC provides traditional outpatient counseling services to address issues such as depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, behavior problems, marital difficulties, addictions, work-related issues, and legal matters. Counseling sessions typically last 45-50 minutes and are paid for by insurance or private pay agreements. Sessions may be held on an individual basis, or may include family members, depending on your needs and goals.
You may be referred for outpatient mental health services in the following ways:
- Self-referral by contacting our office directly to schedule your first appointment.
- Referral from your primary care physician and/or psychiatrist.
- Referral by your medical insurance company.
- Referral through Military OneSource for active duty service members and dependents.
Evaluation and Testimony
Dr. Tom Black is a certified custody and forensic evaluator. He has extensive experience with
assessment and testimony. These services are not covered by medical insurance, and a price
quote will be provided on a case by case basis depending on individual circumstances. Please

Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment (CCFA)
Darsey, Black and Associates, LLC holds a state-wide contract through the Department of Human Services to conduct family assessments on children who have been placed in foster care. Our agency promotes family preservation and makes recommendations to encourage reunification.
CCFA services are referred by DFCS offices only. Case managers may download the CCFA referral form from our website or the DHS website. Referrals and inquiries should be directed to Sarah Anderson and/or Alesha Jernigan.
Darsey, Black and Associates, LLC holds a state-wide contract through the Department of Human Services to provide in-home counseling, crisis intervention, case management, parent education, and transportation in all regions. Behavioral health assessments and home evaluations are also available under this contract.
Wraparound services are referred by DFCS case managers and DJJ officers. Individuals wishing
to refer for services may download the referral form from our website or the DHS website.

Intensive Family Intervention (IFI)
Darsey, Black and Associates, LLC holds a contract with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to provide in-home counseling and education to at-risk children and adolescents. This service is provided by Medicaid and focuses on helping youth prevent placement disruption, substance use issues, hospitalization, and/or involvement with law enforcement.
Consumers appropriate for IFI services should have Medicaid benefits, risk behaviors, and a psychological/psychiatric evaluation showing an Axis-I diagnosis of a severe emotional disorder and/or substance abuse disorder. Case managers, therapists, or other individuals wishing to refer for services may download the referral form from our website. Referrals and inquiries should be directed to Holly Burfield.
Sex Offender Treatment
Darsey, Black and Associates, LLC hold contracts with the Georgia Department of Pardons and Paroles and the United States Probation Department to provide treatment to individuals convicted of sexual offenses. Our program focuses on prevention, community safety, and responsible living.
If your probation or parole officer has referred you for group treatment services, please contact our office at (912) 876-4010 and ask to schedule an assessment. You will be assigned to a group based upon region and availability.
